The challenge
A heavy-equipment manufacturer approached Adept with a concept that combined the work of three different machines into a single garbage hauler. The concept had to keep each machine’s capability without the cost and footprint of three vehicles.
Adept’s approach
Adept developed a design strategy for the whole machine, then built and proved it virtually before anything was fabricated:
- Overall design strategy and system architecture
- A virtual computer prototype of the entire machine’s operation
- Hydraulic system design and analysis
The result
The virtual machine was conveyed to the manufacturer as ready-to-build drawings. Dozens of these haulers were built from Adept’s design and are in operation across the country.
